Dear Friends and Family, PRAYER AND PRAISE July 2008

We have continued to be very busy here at the Rafiki Village in Nyamata , Rwanda . We praise the Lord for our godly mothers-in-training who are dedicated to learning English. Please pray with us that they each stay healthy, remain focused on their studies and continue in steadfast love of Christ Jesus. Please pray even now for God’s protection, provision and safety for each of the orphaned children who will come to live here one day.

We are entering the dry part of the year here in Nyamata, Bugesera District, which is the driest area of the country. We have received two small rain showers since the 8^th of June and will probably not receive any more until late August or September. We praise God for the new water line coming to this district from one of the southern lakes. It has improved our water supply here on the village, but we have run out of water twice in the past three weeks. Please join us in praying for a back up water supply that can adequately cover our village usage, especially when we have children here in our village.

The construction of buildings is continuing at a steady pace. Construction has started on the Dining Hall, which is an answer to prayer in itself. This is a multi-purpose building, housing not only the dining area, kitchen and laundry but will also be used as a classroom until the school is built. So it is very important to our overall operation. We ask that you pray for safety of our workers, accuracy in their work and stable material prices so we can stay within budget. Other construction projects that are underway; the Guest house is nearly complete. It needs the final coat of paint and a few interior items yet to finish. It will serve as our kitchen and dining hall for the next few months. The next two cottages are nearing completion as the final plumbing and electrical are being installed. The doors should be delivered this week, then the final painting and outfitting. Outfitting includes curtains and rods, beds, and lounge furniture. Join us in praying the cottages and guest house will be operational by the end of August.

We want to thank you for your continued prayers and support. Without you we would not be able to serve with Rafiki whose purpose is to change orphaned children into godly contributors in their country.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace” (Num 6:24-26)
