Donna's March 2008 Letter
Dear Friends,
In Margaret's club last week, I gave the
invitation for the kids to come talk to me after club if they were ready (like
Zacchaeus finally was in the Bible lesson) to receive Christ as Savior. As they
lined up for their take-home Bible verse papers, 7 year-old Collin looked right
at me and said "I'm ready!" and he was! He liked that I could give him
ideas of how to pray and then he put it in his own words. He was very willing to
let Margaret know about it after we talked. (We encourage them to tell the
hostess so the first response to that news is good but some kids are too shy to
do that). We met his mother for the first time after the club. Sometimes I wish
you could be with the kids and I or in the car afterwards to share with! Thanks
for your financial gifts and praying so that this could happen! You have a new
brother in the Lord.
The club at Open Arms
went a little better last week so we are hoping to fin-tune things a little
more. Donna does real well teaching but kind of lost their attention in the
review game last week so I helped her finish that up. She wants me to do the
review game this week. This is a 6-week club so we want to get as much Gospel to
the kids as possible. For the next 3 weeks we will give them some form of the
wordless book to take home. We never know how God is going to use the Bible
verses or other things that we send home with them.
Please continue to
pray that the teens who are considering CYIA will know what the Lord wants them
to do this Summer. They are supposed to let me know by March 15th if they are
interested enough to fill out the application. That helps me know how to plan
for the summer training and how many 5-Days Clubs to schedule.
God bless your life
as you find ways to serve Him!
Love in Christ, Donna Woerter
