We are an American Baptist Church who is committed to Christ's Great
Commission to go into our world and " make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded
them." (Matt 28:19-20) We are also seeking to follow the Great
Commandment which is to "love the Lord your God with all our
heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all
your mind' ; and, `Love your neighbor as yourself." (Luke 10:27)
And finally we are attempting to go about these tasks with the Great
Criteria in mind: "whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matt 25:40) It is on
these foundational teachings that we have developed our mission to bring
the Truth and Love of God into our community and world through the lives
of committed and growing Followers of Jesus Christ.
As a 'missional church' we realize our important role of bringing the
light of Christ into our community through personal involvement in
community services and activities, supportive partnerships with
community groups, and active witness through service.
